My work as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of North Dakota focuses on the protective role of the female hormone 17α-Estradiol against HIV Associated Neurological Disorders and substance use. Our lab specializes in the role of neuronal endolysosomes in HIV, Alzheimer's disease, and other neuropsychiatric disorders. My earlier Ph.D. work in India focused on the role of proteases in cell death in the human malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum.
